Beliefs
We generally believe as the Southern Baptists believe as outlined in “The Baptist Faith & Message” such as:
1. We believe in a Tri-une God co-existent in three distinct Persons, God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit (the Trinity). They are not three separate Gods, but yet One in Essence.
2. We believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God. It is complete and without error. It cannot be added to or taken away from. If this happens, then it is not the True Word of God.
3. We believe that salvation is by faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ and that it cannot be earned by performance or good works. It cannot be lost for any reason. Therefore, we believe in “eternal security” (a.k.a. “once saved, always saved”).
4. We believe in a literal Heaven and hell. Only those who have believed in Jesus Christ and put their faith in Him to save them will go to Heaven. All those who have rejected Jesus Christ and His plan of salvation will go to hell and remain there forever. There is no middle ground and no such thing as purgatory.
5. We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again in the future and no one knows the exact time or date that it will happen. We also believe in “The Rapture”.
